The final men’s wildcards for the 2021 Mutua Madrid Open have been named. Thursday saw the organisation make its final invitations to this year’s tournament, completing the stellar line-up at the ATP Masters 1000. The Caja Mágica is preparing to welcome a plethora of hugely talented stars to a tournament that promises to be unforgettable.

Alejandro Davidovich and Jaume Munar have been granted wildcards to play in the main draw, which kicks off on Sunday 2 May. The Malaga native, who broke into the world’s top 50 in April, will be looking to maintain his impressive record on the Madrid clay. The Mallorcan, who made it to his first ATP final a few weeks ago on the clay of Marbella, comes to the Spanish capital ready to consolidate his growth on tour.

Munar and Davidovich complete the list of wildcards for the Mutua Madrid Open’s final draw, where they will be joined by Carlos Alcaraz, one of the tour’s prodigies, and Fernando Verdasco, a stalwart of the Madrid clay.

The invites to the qualifiers, which will start on Saturday 1 May, include some players with huge potential. 19-year-old Valencia native Carlos Gimeno will have the chance to impress the fans. The Caja Mágica will host this Junior Wimbledon finalist, who will be playing in his second ATP Tour event at this ATP Masters 1000.

Spectators will also be able to get a first glimpse of Pedro Martínez, a debutant on the Mutua Madrid Open clay. The player from Alzira is one of the Spanish tennis’ biggest promises and he will be hoping to validate this status at home. Another Valencian, Carlos Taberner, who won his first two Challenger titles in recent months, will return to the Caja Mágica hungry for some wins.

The roll call of wildcards for the qualifiers is completed by Arthur Cazaux, one of the pearls of French tennis. The player from Montpellier, runner-up at the Australian Open and one of the best players in the 2002 generation, is sure to attract plenty of attention on the clay in Madrid.

Wildcards for three pairs have been announced in the doubles: Fernando Verdasco and Alejandro Davidovich, Jaume Munar and Marc López and brothers Stefanos Tsitsipas and Petros Tsitsipas.
