To mark the twentieth anniversary of the Mutua Madrid Open, which will take place from 26 April to 8 May in the Caja Mágica, the tournament has launched a vote where fans can choose the best five matches in the history of the combined ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 event that takes place in the heart of the European clay swing.
Using the website voting.madrid-open.com, until 7 March fans will be able to choose their favourite five matches from a shortlist of 40. Once voting has finished, the five best matches in the history of the Mutua Madrid Open will be shown on the tournament’s social media pages with commentary from Feliciano López, the director of the event.
“There have been some really great matches over the years”, said López, who has been in the role since 2019. “Now fans will have the chance to choose the five best as part of the twentieth-anniversary celebrations. It is well worth visiting the website and looking back at all the great Mutua Madrid Open matches. Everyone should vote!”.
Fans can vote for their favourite five matches from the shortlist of 40 (20 ATP and 20 WTA) by scoring them from 1 to 5 (5 being the best). The initiative is part of the Mutua Madrid Open’s twentieth anniversary celebrations.
